Volunteers needed- Pizza BINGO & Enchanted Ball... Visiting Author... Spelling Bee winners!

Posted Date: 03/21/26 (10:07 AM)

Dear Lancaster Families, I’m going to start with some PTA info since we’re in need of a few volunteers to make our events run smoothly. See yellow highlights below.

PTA Corner:

Pizza BINGO is coming up! Monday (3/23) and Wednesday (3/25) at 6:00-7:30. Please note that Wednesday, 3/25 is also the Woodbury 5th Grade Parent Night (6:00-8:00 PM)

A slice of pepperoni pizza hovers above five colorful bingo balls spelling out 'BINGO'.

We are a bit short on volunteers -- especially on Monday, 3/23.

Ideally we would love to have about 5 volunteers to assist with set up, check in table, bingo caller/announcer, white board writer, prize table, and for clean up. The more hands on deck, the faster and smoother it will be for all.

Please reach out / sign up below if you are available either (or both!) night between 5-8 pm to assist in making this event run smoothly and fun for the Lancaster community. Without volunteers, we will not be able to host events like these!

***If you have already volunteered for one or both days - you will receive an email. Thank you to those who have already signed up!

Thanks!

We’re getting ready for one of the most magical nights of the year — the Lancaster Elementary Enchanted Ball on Friday, April 10th — and we need a few wonderful volunteers to help make the night extra special for our kids!

One of the best perks of volunteering? It’s a great way for BOTH parents (or special grown-ups) to be there for the fun! Since each Lancaster student can only bring one grown-up to the dance, volunteering gives another parent the chance to still be part of the magic behind the scenes.

Even helping for a short time makes a big difference and helps us create a truly enchanting evening for our students. Sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0B45AFAD23A4FCC34-62961638-enchanted#/

Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our Visiting Author, Megan Litwin, on Friday! She shared about the creative process of writing children’s books, as well as the challenges of getting rejected 30 times by publishers! Ms. Litwin taught about perseverance, editing & revising writing, and the sheer number of people it takes to get a book into kids’ hands. Students were inspired!

Children hold signs for 'Author', 'Writing', 'Book Agent', and 'Illustrator' during a school presentation.
A young girl in a 'READ LEAD' shirt points to books displayed on a table.

Special thanks to Liz Della Grotte for bringing Ms. Litwin to Lancaster. Liz was instrumental in ordering books for our author to personalize & sign. Thanks, Liz!Two smiling women stand side-by-side, posing for a photo indoors.

Congratulations to our 4th Grade Spelling Bee Finalists… Callie, Maeve, Liam, Leo, Callum & Colby!

Our updated Lancaster website has an easy calendar feature. Our admin. assistant, Kim Frost, will be adding whole-school activities and announcements onto it. Most grade-level or class-level activities will be announced through Parent Square by classroom teachers. If you’re unsure about an upcoming activity, feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher or call the main office. We’re here to help!
