Read-a-Thon celebration assembly... Prank the Principal

Posted Date: 04/01/26 (04:39 PM)

Dear Lancaster Families,

It was SUCH a fun day on April Fool's Day here at Lancaster! We had our whole-school assembly, celebrating our 4th & 5th grade spelling bee winners and the end of our Read-a-Thon. Among other things, we gave the award of an outdoor picnic lunch (coming soon) to:

  • the top class who read the most minutes (Ms. Deignan at 22,876 minutes) and
  • the top class who raised the most (Mrs. Hershman at $3,355).
The top readers in each grade earned a lunch bunch in the office with pizza & 2 friends, and the students who raised the most money earned a "Prank on the Principal." Be sure to ask your child tonight about the craziness that ensued! I think I'm STILL getting whipped cream & silly string out of my ears!A person in a sparkly gold jacket, a wild wig, and colorful feather boas poses in an office.
A smiling woman in a yellow shirt sits with three children in an office setting.
A child applies face paint to a smiling woman wearing a blonde wig and a yellow t-shirt.
Children playfully spray whipped cream on a person's face in a gymnasium.
A teacher with whipped cream on her face smiles at a crowd of students in a gymnasium.I can't thank our PTA board enough for working tirelessly on this fundraiser! We are looking at options for playground equipment, and we'll be sharing more info soon.

Tomorrow is World Autism Awareness Day- Wear Blue
I hope you have a good evening!
