Dodgeball winners!... last day of school announced... Big Event... playground updates
Dear Lancaster Families,
Our 5th Grade District-Wide Dodgeball Tournament led to an exciting week. In case you hadn’t heard… Lancaster retained the title and WON Dodgeball for the 2nd year in a row! Congratulations to all the 5th grade students who worked so hard to prepare. I genuinely appreciate our gym teacher, Mr. Maynard, for taking the time to practice with students, teach them good sportsmanship, and pump them up for the big game! Here are a few pictures, but there are many, many more in the attachments below.

Special thanks to our Wildcat, Latham! He even rocked the dance competition in a very hot costume!
Our PTA did SO much work, prepping for this event. Lancaster won the MOST FOOD DONATIONS for End 68 Hours of Hunger. Our entire school won a popsicle party... coming soon!
***********************************************The last day of school has been announced- Tuesday, June 16th, with a 12:00 noon dismissal.

Many grades will be doing field trips in the upcoming month or so. Your child’s classroom teacher will provide all the information you need. Please be sure to put in PickUp Patrol if your child is absent the day of a field trip so the bus isn’t delayed leaving. We are so grateful for parent volunteers who are able to attend.

Wednesday, April 22nd is Earth Day. Our library assistant, Ms. J., will be organizing some students to clean up trash from the playground during recess if they want to. She’ll have gloves & plastic bags available. It’s so good for kids to take ownership of their own playground!

Speaking of the playground, I’m pleased to announce that our playground will be getting a make-over! During Spring Break, a painter will be here, painting our playground equipment in blue & yellow Lancaster colors! I’ll be announcing it to students this week.

Equipment that is BROWN will be BLUE!
Equipment that is GREEN will be YELLOW!

Friday, April 24th is our BIG EVENT! Students (grades kindergarten through 5th grade) get to choose from 17 different activities to do during two enrichment sessions (AM & PM). Our team has worked hard to have each student get their top choices. Just some of the activities are:
Nurse in Training
Stop-Motion Animation
Building Birdhouses
Obstacle Course Fun

Trees for Tots program (Arbor Day) will be delivering their tree/seedlings to 1st grade classes on Friday, April 24th. Your child will undoubtedly want to plan a new tree in your front yard!***********************************************
