October events
Dear Lancaster Families,
What amazing weather to kick off this fall weekend! The month of October brings a variety of activities, including our PTA Calendar Raffle and a coloring contest to earn lunch bunch with our School Resource Officer (SRO) Sean Marino or Principal Livie. Fridays in October are “wear orange” days. Students will also be decorating a large class “puzzle piece” to present to the Salem Police Department from Lancaster students. We’re teaching students about “community helpers” and ways we can show our appreciation for their service.
We’re looking forward to the Lancaster Focus on Achievement presentation before the school board on Tuesday, 10/6 at 7:00 PM. Our focus this year will be on how we prepare kindergarten students and families to join our school community through transition activities, detailed communication, and welcoming events. I’d like to thank two kindergarten parents, Keila Donahue & Samantha Nugent, for being interviewed for our upcoming video. The video is coming together nicely!
We will have bus evacuation practice this week. Students load the parked buses, the bus driver reviews safety features/ procedures, and students practice evacuating safely. Even if students don’t normally ride the bus, it’s important that they know how to quickly evacuate in case of an emergency.
