NO SCHOOL- Monday, October 12th... Grandparents' Day Info... PTA Fall Festival & Trunk-or-Treat!
Dear Lancaster Families,
There is NO SCHOOL Monday, October 12th due to the holiday weekend. I hope you all enjoy the changing autumn leaves and beautiful weather today.
Our 4th grade students learned about Salem history on their tour of the Salem Historical Society. It was eye-opening to learn about what school was like back in the day! Special thanks to Susan Mothon from the historical society for arranging this engaging visit!
We appreciate the festive donation of corn stalks from Michelle Young now displayed at Lancaster. We’re getting into the fall spirit!
Grandparents’ Day is coming up! This is scheduled for the Tuesday before Thanksgiving when grandparents or special guests come to Lancaster to visit their grandchild’s classroom. This is a really enjoyable event that kids and grandparents look forward to. Due to the high number of guests we had last year (and long lines out the door), we need to make a slight adjustment this year. Only 2 grandparents/ special guests will be invited to attend per student (instead of 4). Other schools have done this due to safety & space constraints. If there are 2 sets of grandparents, often they will rotate the years that they attend this event. We appreciate your understanding, as we want to welcome grandparents in the most enjoyable and safe way possible. A sign-up sheet will be sent out soon. Here are the dates:
Grandparents’/ Special Guests Day- Tues., November 24th
9:15-10:00- Grades: 1st, 2nd, & 3rd
10:30-11:15- Grades: kindergarten, 4th, & 5th
The PTA is taking candy donations to help fill our trunks at Trunk-or-Treat!
All candy must be in its original packaging.
Please drop off donations to the school by Friday, October 16th! Thank you!
PTA Meeting- Tuesday, October 13th at 6:00-7:00 PM in the library. Please join us to help plan fun events for students!
Wear orange- Friday, 10/16
PTA Fall Festival- Saturday, 10/17 at 4:00-6:30… followed by Trunk-or-Treat at 6:30-8:00.
Carols & Cocoa- SHS December 3rd 5:30-7:00 PM
